The elder brother of Anushka Karnesh Sharma was in the Merchant Navy and now is a film producer. Anushka Sharma has graduated from Army School Bangalore. Anushka wanted to become a journalist or model, not an actor. Anushka enrolled in Elite Model Management after graduating in the field and received training from Prasad Bidapa, the stylist consultant. Anushka's debut as a fashion model came in the year 2017, when she walked with Wendell Rodricks at Lakme Fashion Week, and then was chosen by Rodricks to be a model at his spring-summer 2007 collection. The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. Anushka Sharma played the role in the film "Badmash Co The film came out in the year 2010. It was also a star-studded film with Shahid Kapoor and Vir Das. The movie received mixed praises. The same year Anushka Sharma appeared in the movie 'Band Baaja Baaraat' alongside Ranveer Singh in the role of a middle-class Punjabi girl who begins her own business of wedding planning. The movie received a great reception and was a huge success. Anushka had signed her three-film contract with Yash Raj Films.
